a. m/4 +(x-1)/2 + 5x/6 = [3m + 6(x-1) +5x]/12
= (3m +6x -6 +5x)/12
=(3m +11x -6)/12
b. (4a^2 +ab)/4(a +b) + 2a/3 = [3(4a^2 +ab) + 4(2a)]/12(a+b)
= (12a^2 +3ab +8a)/12(a+b)
